The P-graded regalite mineral construction of 3M's purple sanding belts gives them an aggressive initial cut, consistent cut rate, and long life. Other features include: better leveling with uniform finish; higher stock removal with less heat and loading; and reduced labor cost per workpiece. The belt's butt splice allows unidirectional sanding for extended life and reduced abrasive cost per workpiece.

They do stretch a little right at the end of life but at that point the grit is gone anyway. Excellent cutting power and long life. Last about ten times as long as the OEM belts that came with my Bosch sander.
I have used these belts in multiple grits and have come to depend on them as the primary belts for my 4x24 inch Bosch belt sander. They have great abrasive and long life - all you could ask for in a sanding belt.
